G24 SOLO CHAMPIONSHIPSSEPT15

It all began when Patrick Adams, Europe’s leading 24 hour endurance race promoter, joined forces with Nat Ross from Tough Guy Productions. It was an attempt to bring a European flavour into American endurance racing. They are now looking to dominate endurance racing with the full support of Kona.

Part of a series that includes three races, the Kona Global 24 Hour Solo Championship forms part. It began at Trentham Gardens, United Kingdom. It then headed to Snow Mountain Ranch, Colorado. The G24 Champion would be named at round 2. G24 Championships are awarded to solo riders in a different race each season: Australia in 2006, France in 2005, and the UK in 2007. Kona hopes to make the Global 24 Hour Championship Series/Solo Championships the most prestigious endurance racing series in the world. Future plans include the establishment of a French college championship and a shop/mechanics section. The latter includes a mechanical task that the rider must complete just before the start/finish line.
Nat Ross won the G24 Solo Championship last year. Jenn OConnor won the women’s title. Jenn OConnor, originally from New Zealand is an iconic racing star. Specialized is her riding team.
