NEMBA Announces the Winners of 2005 Boston Mountain Bike Video Awards Competition
Kona Bicycles, JRA Cycles presented this offer
Redbones Barbecue, Harpoon Beer and Dave Watson, a Mountain Bike Celebrity from Vancouver, Canada will be hosting the event.

The event raised over €250 for NEMBA and attracted 250 people. An anonymous donor provided a match for all donations and memberships up to €2,500. There was also a raffle to win a Kona STINKY mountain bike, Fox suspension fork, and a trip to Backcountry Excursions in Maine. The advocacy efforts of NEMBA will be supported by all proceeds.

Stephen Pope, Bill Lazdowski and Sean Curran were the other finalists. Justin Schroth was selected for Weekends. Each winner received gift certificates to JRA Cycles.

Krisztina Holly, event emcee, stated that she was impressed by the professionalism of the films. We are thrilled to be able support local filmmakers, and to host this annual celebration for local New England riding culture.

Many consider Dave Watson to be one of the founders of freeriding. He is most well-known for riding his bike across the Tour de France in 2003. Watson is a professional freerider who travels and appears in mountain biking films. He also owns Sombrio Clothing, a bicycle clothing company.

Fox Racing Shox and bustedspoke.com were also sponsors of the event. Backcountry Excursions of Maine and Dirt Rag Magazine were also present.

The New England Mountain Bike Association

There are 17 chapters of the New England Mountain Bike Association and over 4,600 members in New England. Its mission is promote responsible mountain biking, and preserve and protect New England’s trails and open spaces. It also hosts about 1000 recreational rides per year, organizes mountain bike festivals, camping trips, and conducts bicycle patrols in many parks.
